What happened

Rank Monster tracked a buyer-intent prompt set across six AI engines and published citability-scored articles to a hosted feed (articles.screenz.ai) and the company blog: 77 articles between April 21 and September 15.

Perplexity picked the articles up first. On the same 158 buyer prompts, Perplexity's answers cited screenz.ai 33 times in the June 10 scan and 161 times in the August 7 scan, and 141 of those citations pointed at Rank Monster articles.

The engines' own tools show the same pattern. Bing Webmaster Tools counted no AI citations before August 6 and 20.6K in the month that followed, with up to 35 pages cited a day. Google Search Console's Generative-AI report grew from about 5 impressions a day in May to more than 100 a day by September.

Classic search moved too. Google impressions averaged 1,262 a week in 2026 before Rank Monster; over the last 8 weeks they averaged 2,775 (2.2×), and clicks rose 26%. In the 30 days after the CDN log drain went live on August 11, AI crawlers fetched screenz.ai 30,260 times, 2,382 of them ChatGPT retrieving a page live to answer a question.
